I grew up hearing stories about my grandfather. I was always drawn to history, photography, writing, and design. So when I started researching my own family, I went deep. Years of records, documents, photos, and discoveries piled up.
But I had no way to share any of it. Especially with the elderly relatives who had lived through the very history I was uncovering. Then my older family members began to pass away, taking their stories with them. That changed everything. I became focused on preserving lives, not just dates and names.
As I had children of my own later in life, that desire grew stronger. I wanted them to know where they came from. I wanted the people who came before us to be real to them, not just names on a chart.
